Built for weather
Canopy and hardtop systems move from open-air use to shelter without dismantling the living space.
The name joins two Latin words: mare, the sea, and rex, the king. More than fifty years of Norwegian family boatbuilding sit behind it.

Eyvin Aalrud founded Marex at Rykene on Norway's southern coast. The first 24 Sun Cab set out a durable idea: a compact cruiser that felt safe, useful and comfortable for a family.
Espen and Thomas Aalrud later continued the company, keeping design and product development rooted in Norway.

The Sun Cruiser concept combined an open social cockpit with genuine cruising accommodation. That balance still shapes the range today.
Every transition is considered for a family crew: sheltered seating, sensible storage, handholds and a clear route between helm, cockpit and deck.
Independent juries and boat tests have recognised Marex designs across family cruising, product design and innovation categories.

Marex judges a detail by what it makes easier on board. The boats are developed around protected social spaces, usable storage and systems a couple or family can manage.
Four ideas recur across the range: fast weather protection, space with a purpose, family-scale handling and direct Australian support.

Canopy and hardtop systems move from open-air use to shelter without dismantling the living space.

Storage, seating and work surfaces are treated as part of the layout from the beginning.

Helm access, handholds and simple transitions support a couple or family operating together.

Configurations are discussed locally, then specified as a factory order for the owner's intended use.

Flagship International Yacht Brokers represents Marex exclusively in Australia and provides a direct point of contact for the range, factory configurations and long-term support. Boats remain factory orders, specified case by case.
